Ukrainian air defenses shot down two Russian missiles targeting Odesa in two separate attacks on June 22, spokesman for the Odesa military administration Serhiy Bratchuk said on June 23.

“During the past 24 hours, the enemy attacked the Odesa oblast with missiles twice,” Bratchuk said.

“Both attacks were stopped by air defense units. Thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their work!”

Active hostilities continue in Ukraine’s Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson oblasts, where invading Russian troops continue to attack the Ukrainian armed forces.

However, almost all other oblasts of Ukraine are regularly subjected to missile attacks by the Russians, who target Ukraine’s food and transport infrastructure in particular.

Russia is also maintaining a naval blockade of the port of Odesa, through which the bulk of Ukraine’s grain exports are shipped.
