Former FSB colonel Girkin says he will go to war with Ukraine sooner or later

Igor Girkin (Strelkov), the former so-called “Minister of Defence of the DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic)”, after being detained in the Russian-occupied Crimea, has claimed that he would still go to war with Ukraine, but not now.

Details: Girkin asserts that he has not been thrown into a pre-trial detention cell.

Background: Girkin was detained in occupied Crimea on 13 August as he was travelling to the war in Ukraine with forged documents.

On 18 July, investigators from Bellingcat and The Insider reported that Girkin used a forged passport in the name of Sergei Runov, issued by the Russian special services.
