A video of the results of an unfortunate mishap at the dog groomers has left not only the dog’s owner in hysterics but also TikTok users, with one commenting, “They did her DIRTY!”

In the video posted by user @ScotchCharles, which has been viewed over 200,000 times, a man can be seen laughing at his poor Goldendoodle as it is revealed that the dog groomers have only trimmed the fur around the dog’s face, making its head look disproportionally smaller than its body.

The video is captioned, “Just cut around [the] eyes so she can see” and the text on the video reads, “My poor dog got her first haircut.”

Users in the comments were quick to share their thoughts on the pup’s new look. “poor dog gonna be laughed at for months,” said one, adding laughing emojis. Another commenter wrote: “Omw what did they do to the poor baby” with a crying emoji.

A third commenter offered their professional opinion on the matter. “16 years groomer here. What did you ask for. Leave it long and just cut the knots out,” they wrote, using multiple laughing while crying emojis. “Still cute.”

According to U.K.-based pet care business Pets At Home, “Grooming is an essential part of a dog’s life, from puppyhood onwards, because there are so many wellbeing benefits. As well as introducing air to the coat and boosting healthy hair growth, regular grooming also promotes good blood circulation and helps to prevent a build-up of grease and dandruff. When too much grease builds up within a dog’s coat, it can block pores and cause sebaceous cysts, which can be very uncomfortable and painful for the dog.”

They continued: “We recommend that your new pet has two to three puppy grooming sessions before experiencing a full-service groom—this could also include a haircut, depending on your dog’s coat type. Generally, a puppy has its first haircut at around six months old. With a combination of regular grooming at home and sessions at your groomers, your puppy should be in tip-top shape for their first trim. If your puppy has not been regularly groomed, it may need a shorter cut to get rid of knots and matting – this will then make the brushing and grooming process.”

The viral Goldendoodle isn’t the only dog that had an unfortunate grooming experience recently.
