Two children have been wounded and one has been killed by intensified Russian shelling of the liberated portions of Kherson Oblast, regional government Yaroslav Yanushevych reported on Telegram on Nov. 23.

The child, a 13 year old boy, died in the hospital from his wounds. He was wounded by a Russian cluster shell while he was hiding from the shelling with his father.

Another 13-year-old boy was hit by a shell fragment while running in his yard. His arm was lost as a result. Another child was wounded in the abdomen.

In total, in the past 24 hours, two people have been killed and another 10 injured in Kherson Oblast.

“Shelling is continuing and intensifying,” Yanushevych said.

“We are dealing with a terrorist who attacks civilian structures. People have been killed and injured.”

Four settlements near the town of Beryslavsk, and six near the city of Kherson, were targeted for the attacks.

Russian troops began shelling Kherson after their withdrawal from the western bank of the Dnipro River. Kherson was occupied in the first days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Previously, three people were killed and one more was injured in Kherson due to a Russian attack.
