Up to 8,000 Ukrainian troops underwent
basic military training abroad, with 3,000 more currently being trained, Deputy
Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of Ukraine’s General Staff Oleksiy
Hromov said during a briefing on Nov. 24.

“On the basic military training: to date, 7,500 troops have finished training, while another 2,900 are (currently) undergoing it,” said Hromov.

He noted that training is ongoing abroad, with Ukraine’s international partners involved in the program.

“These drills are progressing according to plan, at our partners’ facilities, and in accordance with our needs as we’ve estimated them,” Hromov concluded.

The current training program takes place in the UK, with instructors from several other countries participating.

On Sept. 15, Denmark announced it will help train Ukrainian troops on Danish soil.
