assets of the arrested president of JSC
including rare cars and Scythian gold,
the SBU reported
Several heads of the plant’s divisions tried to hide Bohuslayev’s property on the territory of commercial structures he controlled, in order to thus illegally take it out of Ukraine and avoid it being seized as part of a criminal case.
The SBU said that investigators and counterintelligence “worked ahead of time.” During the searches, law enforcement officers found and seized:
seven luxury cars, including four rare ones;
one rifle and three hunting rifles;
antique items, including those from the Kyiv Rus era.
The SBU also established that Bohuslayev’s entourage threatened the plant’s employees with dismissal and “consequences” and forced them to sign a “collective appeal” to ease the preventive measure against their director.
The SBU detained Bohuslayev, the “honorary president” of the Motor Sich company and ex-MP from the Party of Regions, as part of a case on the company’s illegal supply of military goods for Russian attack aircraft.
The Shevchenkivskyy District Court of Kyiv put Bohuslayev into custody for two months on Oct. 24. According to Schemes investigative journalism program, Bohuslayev also has a Russian tax number linked with his Russian passport. The Russian Tax Service website confirms this data.
The SBU seized property belonging to Bohuslayev worth almost UAH 1 billion ($27 million) on Nov. 4. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced on Nov. 7 that Motor Sich, along with a number of other strategic enterprises, will now work around the clock for the defense of Ukraine.
