Laura Whitmore is working on a new documentary

The 37-year-old TV star is making a hard-hitting documentary about the online movement, which involves men who believe that women are to blame for their lack of intimacy.

Laura – who will front three episodes of the new series – told The Sun newspaper: “One of the topics I’ve been looking at as part of the new series is incels. I didn’t know a lot about this community other than some high-profile cases in the media.

“By meeting incels and trying to understand the ideology, I’ve been both fascinated and at times scared and shocked.”

Laura quit ‘Love Island’ earlier this year after hosting the hit TV show for three series.

The blonde beauty announced her departure via a post on social media.

Laura – who replaced the late Caroline Flack as the host of the show – wrote on Instagram: “Some news! I won’t be hosting the next series of Love island. There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects. I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands. I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series. I hope I did you proud Caroline. (sic)”

In October, Maya Jama was announced as the new host of ‘Love Island’.

The 28-year-old star will front the show when it returns to TV screens in 2023.

Maya said: “I’ve always been such a massive ‘Love Island’ fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows.

“I can’t wait to get into the villa to meet all of the Islanders.”
