Starmer tells NHS staff: The cavalry is coming

Sir Keir Starmer has said a Labour government would “get round the table” with nurses’ unions to avoid strikes..

But the Labour leader did not say whether he supported their demand for a 19% pay rise.

He said nurses had been “driven” to industrial action by the government and the planned strikes would be “devastating news” for patients.
