Channel 4 First Dates star jailed for role in heroin ring

A First Dates star has been jailed for six years after admitting his part in a £1.5 million heroin ring.

Joseph Shaw, 28, appeared on the Channel 4 dating show in 2017.

He, along with his younger brother Daniel, 24, admitted to conspiracy to supply both cocaine and heroin after police raided a property on Silkstone Road, Bradford, in 2021.

Police received a tip-off and seized 31kg of heroin and £100,000 cash from the address.

Officers confirmed at the time of the raid that they had found Class A drugs in two laundry bags hidden in the attic, while the cash was hidden in a sports bag.

Joseph Shaw was also charged with conspiracy to produce cannabis and sentenced to six years in prison, while Daniel Shaw was sentenced to ten and a half years at Bradford Crown Court.

During his appearance on First Dates in 2017 Joseph met Jodie before realising the pair had already met.

The two had found each other on a train before spending the night together.

After telling Fred that he knew her, Joseph snuck into the the toilet to ring a friend.

He told his pal: “I’m on a date with her, she’s proper like pretending she don’t know me. How funny is that? She’s like ‘oh yeah, we kind of know each other.

“’I don’t kind of know you, I spent all night with you last night’”
