Ex-U.N. prosecutor urges global arrest warrant for Putin

An Aurora man has been charged with first- and second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting in the city in 2015, officials said.

Robert T. McBride, 44, of the 2200 block of Mulberry Court, is accused of fatally shooting Bryce Stiff, of Montgomery, according to a news release from the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office.

McBride was indicted on Feb. 16. A judge issued a warrant for McBride’s arrest and set his bail at $2 million, officials said.

The case was sealed until Wednesday, court records show.

Stiff, 33, died while driving with a 21-year-old male passenger down the 200 block of South LaSalle Street in Aurora on March 7, 2015, according to Beacon-News archives. A bullet hit Stiff and he tried to drive himself to the hospital, only to collide with a Jeep on the way.

His car went into a parking lot, where paramedics found him and took him to the hospital, where he died, according to reports. Neither his passenger nor the Jeep driver was seriously injured in the crash.

McBride is due back in court on May 31.
