U.S. 127 back open after deadly semi crash in Preble County

A busy road in Preble County is back open after a deadly crash early Wednesday morning.

Sheriff’s deputies and medics responded just before 3:50 a.m. to U.S. 127 and W Camden College Corner Road on reports of a semi crash, according to Preble County dispatchers.

At least one person is confirmed dead.

U.S. 127 is back open between State Routes 744 and 725, dispatchers tell News Center 7.

Sheriff Mike Simpson told our newsroom that the four-mile stretch along U.S. 127 was closed while deputies investigated the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) assisted while U.S. 127 was closed.

Sheriff’s deputies and medics responded just before 3:50 a.m. to U.S. 127 and W Camden College Corner Road on reports of a semi crash, according to Preble County dispatchers.

A four-mile stretch of U.S. 127 will be closed for hours while the crash is under investigation, Sheriff Mike Simpson told News Center 7.

As reported on News Center 7′s Daybreak, WHIO Traffic Tracker Jake Magnotta said the road closure included State Route 744 to State Route 725 and it impacted drivers from Butler County.

Sheriff Simpson told our newsroom that information about the crash would be released later today.
