The summer months are a busy time for road crews, working on repairs across the county before the cold sets in. Long days and warm weather are the perfect opportunity for crews to follow through on pending projects.

A number of repairs, paving, and landscaping will be seen throughout the Southern Tier in the coming weeks. Motorists are advised to map out your daily travels ahead of time, and be aware of uneven roads, machinery, detours and roadblocks in select locations.

Here are the construction projects planned during the week of Aug. 19 in Broome County:

• Milling and paving continue on Prospect Street and Downs Avenue

• Patching on Cherry Valley Hill Road

• Paving prep on Kattelville Road

• Ditching on Knapp, East Maine, North and Stratmill roads

• Cross road culvert replacements on Knapp Road

• Manhole repairs continue on Oakdale Road

• Closed drainage work continues on the Route 26 end of Bunn Hill Road

• Striping to county and town roadways

• Mowing roadside on several county roads
