House lawmakers passed a newly revised 118-page government funding bill, or a continuing resolution (CR), on Friday that will fund the government for three months. The bill passed by a vote of 366-34-1, after an earlier version failed on Thursday night.
Almost every House Democrat voted in favor of the bill, with one member voting present. Thirty-four Republicans voted against it.
Why It Matters
The revised bill will fund the government and keep it working until after President-elect Donald Trump‘s inauguration through the middle of March. Thirty-eight Republicans voted against Thursday’s bill, which included Trump’s demand for a two-year suspension of the debt ceiling.
