The Philadelphia Eagles dethroned the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 and are the new champions of the football world with their Super Bowl LIX victory.

As they fell to Kansas City in Super Bowl LVII, quarterback Jalen Hurts infamously made his phone wallpaper an image of himself walking off the field in defeat.

“I don’t need a screensaver to remind me of anything,” said the now-Super Bowl champion, “but it’s there.”

The pain was there. The motivation to come back stronger was there. Now finally, the redemption is here.

Hurts, winning Super Bowl MVP honors, played a major role in slaying the two-time defending champion Chiefs.

He went 17/22 with 221 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick. Hurts even ran the ball 11 times for 72 yards and a touchdown, breaking the record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a Super Bowl set by himself in Super Bowl LVII.

At only 26 years old, Hurts now has his championship ring and a Super Bowl MVP, but does this victory make Hurts the greatest Eagle of all time?

Now there have been many incredible members of the storied franchise, but with this Super Bowl win, Hurts did something that only one other Eagles player has ever done, and that is winning Super Bowl MVP.

Although backup quarterback Nick Foles brought Philadelphia its’ first Super Bowl title and earned Super Bowl MVP honors, he came in relief after a 2017 year where he was not the starting quarterback for the majority of the regular season and didn’t do much else for the franchise after that magical year.

A player that will always come to mind when thinking about the greatest Eagles is undeniably Reggie White.

White, one of the most-feared defensive ends in the history of the NFL, is a 13-time Pro Bowler, led the NFL in sacks after the 1987 and 1988 seasons, and is the second all-time in career sacks with 198.
