New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome will be packed on Sunday with cheering fans as the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in this year’s Super Bowl. Among those cheering fans will be the wives, fiancées and girlfriends of the NFL players.
What Is a WAG?
A WAG is an acronym for wives and girlfriends. The title is typically given to the women in the lives of high-profile professional athletes. WAGs have gained more prominence in recent years thanks to social media, making a name for themselves outside of their husband’s careers.

Taylor Swift, Girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce
Pop singer Taylor Swift, 35, and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, 35, started dating in late 2023. The 14 Grammy award-winner has gained international popularity with her own career, performing sold-out shows for her Eras Tour from March 2023 until December 2024. It was at an Eras show in July 2023 when Kelce tried but failed to give Swift a friendship bracelet, which fans would trade during Swift’s concerts, with his phone number on it. But it all worked out in the end.

Brittany Mahomes, Wife of Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, 29, started dating his now-wife Brittany Mahomes, 29, in 2012. They were high school sweethearts and after a decade together, they tied the knot in March 2022. They have three children together, a 3-year-old girl named Sterling Skye, a 2-year-old boy named Patrick the III, who goes by Bronze, and another girl Golden Raye, who was born last month.
Brittany Mahomes, who played college soccer, has had her own successful career in the fitness world. She created her online guided workout company Brittany Lynne Fitness and she and her husband are partial owners of the Kansas City Current, a team in the National Women’s Soccer League.
