The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back Marquise “Hollywood” Brown on a one-year deal worth up to $11 million.

Brown had missed most of the 2024 season due to a sternoclavicular injury but returned in the postseason. He was never given the time to shine, but the star pass catcher can now do that in 2025.

Brown finally made his regular season debut in Week 16, after missing most of the season due to his injury. He would appear in Week 16 and 17 games, posting 91 yards on nine receptions.

Brown was meant to be a cornerstone offensive weapon for Patrick Mahomes, but the unfortunate training camp injury prevented him from being able to do so. The Chiefs would move forward with Xavier Worthy, and Juju Smith-Schuster, and eventually traded for DeAndre Hopkins.

Throughout the 2024 season, the Chiefs’ offensive was not as dynamic, and it could have been due to Brown not being in the lineup. Star running back Isiah Pacheco also suffered a broken leg, leading to him missing significant time.

With the Chiefs missing two key offensive weapons, the team would win the majority of their games by one score or less. Despite the issues with injuries, Kansas City made it to the Super Bowl.

They were handily beaten by the Philadelphia Eagles, missing out on making history as the first NFL team to secure a three-peat championship run. It could have been the injuries that halted the team, or they were simply outclassed.
