Metro-North to provide extra trains for Yankees-Red Sox series

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — The biggest rivalry in baseball returns to the Bronx this week, and Metro-North is staying ahead of the anticipation of huge crowds.

MTA Metro-North Railroad will be operating extra trains on the Hudson and New Haven lines before and after each of the four games on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In addition, special express Yankee Clipper trains will be operating on the Hudson, New Haven and Harlem lines. The additional trains on the Hudson and New Haven lines are in anticipation of lots of New Englanders heading to the Bronx to see the Yankees and Red Sox go toe-to-toe.

Yankee Clipper trains

On Thursday and Friday, an extra Yankee Clipper train will depart from New Haven at 4:47 p.m., stopping at West Haven, Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport, Fairfield-Black Rock, Fairfield, Westport, South Norwalk, Darien, Noroton Heights, Stamford, Greenwich, Rye, Larchmont and New Rochelle before getting to Yankee Stadium. An extra train will take fans home after the game as well.

Saturday’s extra train will depart from New Haven at 9:23 a.m., making stops at West Haven, Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport, Fairfield-Black Rock, Fairfield, Southport, Green’s Farms, Westport, East Norwalk, South Norwalk, Rowayton, Darien, Noroton Heights and Stamford.

An extra Hudson Yankee Clipper will leave Beacon at 9:37 a.m., with stops at Cold Spring, Garrison and Peekskill.

Sunday’s rail leaves New Haven at 3:10 p.m., making the same stops as Saturday’s line. The extra Hudson train making the same stops as Saturday will leave Beacon at 4:37 p.m.
