A Palestinian was arrested in Jerusalem after attempting to carry out a terrorist attack, including a soldier kidnapping.
Officers from Israel Police’s YASAM Special Patrol Unit in Jerusalem arrested a Palestinian attempting to steal a soldier’s weapon and carry out a terror attack, police confirmed on Monday.
The officers noticed the suspect walking through the streets, raising suspicion, and found in an initial investigation that he was a Palestinian who had entered Israel illegally without proper entry permits.
After being arrested, he was searched, and officers found a black kippah in his possession, police added.

During the interrogation, police officers found that the Palestinian terror suspect had entered Israel through a fence near A-Ram in east Jerusalem.
The suspect is from the northern West Bank, according to a report by public broadcaster KAN News.

Jerusalem police detained two American students on suspicion of photographing a sensitive security installation at the entrance to the city in August.
Authorities have requested a five-day extension of their detention as the investigation continues.
