Destiny’s Child‘s recent reunion was a “spur-of-the-moment” decision.
Michelle Williams recently reunited with Destiny’s Child
Beyonce closed out her Cowboy Carter tour in Las Vegas in July with a surprise appearance from former bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland, and Michelle has now revealed that they didn’t have much time to prepare for the performance, unlike when they appeared together at Coachella in 2018 during the Crazy in Love hitmaker’s headline performance.
Speaking on Watch What Happens Live, Michelle said: “It was awesome, spur of the moment..
“The last one – Coachella – we had a little more time.
“This one was, ‘Y’all let’s do this,’ and we did it.”
The 46-year-old star thinks the secrecy surrounding Destiny’s Child’s occasional appearances makes them more impactful.
Asked how they selected which songs to perform, she said: “I don’t like giving away secrets. There are talks but I think why we’re able to have impact, it’s not only the fact people listened but it’s what we don’t share. When you see us, you see us.”
Michelle is currently starring on Broadway in Death Becomes Her and admitted it is only Destiny’s Child that could lure her away from the stage and back to her chart career.
Asked if the trio will ever record another album, she teased: “Anything is possible. To me, performing on stage is like that for me… I only like it with Beyoncé and Kelly. But as far as Broadway, I’m a Broadway girl… Music? I only want to do it with them.”
