WEEKEND IN VIEW
We’re starting off this Saturday under a Weather Alert for the potential of strong to severe thunderstorms later in the day across parts of New England. It’s a cloudy and foggy start, with warm and muggy conditions already in place—temperatures are hovering in the mid 60s as of this morning.
As we head through the day, expect a few breaks of sunshine and highs climbing into the mid 70s. While much of the day will stay dry—especially across eastern Massachusetts—we can’t rule out a spot shower or thunderstorm at any time, so keep the umbrella handy as well as our Boston 25 Weather App just in case.
The main concern arrives after 4 PM, as a line of storms develops over western New England and begins to push from west to east. Some of these storms could turn severe, bringing the risk of damaging wind gusts, hail, heavy downpours, and frequent lightning. If you have outdoor plans later today, especially west of I-495, be weather-aware and ready to head indoors if storms approach. The line is expected to weaken somewhat as it reaches eastern MA this evening, but gusty winds and pockets of heavy rain will still be possible.
Sunday brings another mild and muggy day, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. We may see a few isolated showers, but most of the rain will stay focused across northern New England.
NEXT WEEK
Looking ahead to next week, we’re in for cooler and cloudier conditions, with highs dipping into the 50s. Another round of unsettled weather is on track to move in by Wednesday.
