Rising superstar pianist Ashley Henry is going out on tour.

The 33-year-old jazz musician – who has recently released his critically acclaimed third studio album ‘Who We Are’ – will be embarking on a seven-day UK tour from April.

Audiences will be able to hear his unique blend of soul and hip-hop vocals, reflective of his London upbringing and Jamaican roots, beginning on Saturday, April 12 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.

Ashley – who has collaborated with the Grammy-nominated poet and lyricist Aja Monet and Jazzfm’s 2020 Vocalist of the Year Judi Jackson – will then head up North to Manchester’s ‘Band on the Wall’ on Tuesday, April 29, and then south west to the Welsh capital Cardiff where he will play at the CLWB IFOR Bach on Wednesday, April 30.

May will see the young talent – whose deep-rooted influences and visionary conviction make him one of the most exciting musicians emerging across London and beyond – treat crowds to his genre-bending sound at Louisiana in Bristol on Thursday, the 1st.

Three days later, he will be at Headrow House in Leeds, before travelling up to Glasgow, Scotland, for a date at Hug and Pint on Monday, May 5.

Ashley’s tour will end on Tuesday, May 6 at Bodega in Nottingham.

His collaborative practice draws from being a diligent student of the Black radical traditions.

Exposed to futurism and history, pulse, restlessness and poise, Ashley moved towards muses that have shaped his complex artistry.
