Six Leopard 2A4 tanks have
arrived at Santander Port in the north of Spain on their journey to Ukraine’s
frontline, CNN reported on April 19, referring to video from local media.

The tanks, along with other armored vehicles from Madrid, are expected to be deployed to the frontline by the end of the month.

Margarita Robles, Spain’s Defense Minister, said on April 12 Leopard that tanks will be transferred to Ukraine in the near future. Four more tanks are being repaired and will be sent later.

Dozens of Ukrainian soldiers completed a four-week-long training on the Leopard 2A4 tanks in Spain on March 13. A total of 40 crew members and 15 mechanics have undergone training at a military base in Zaragoza.

Nine countries plan to transfer over 150 Leopard tanks to Ukraine, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said on March 15, with some allies having already fulfilled their commitments.

Denmark has promised 100 additional Leopard 1 tanks for Ukraine.
