The loved-up dancing duo – who met on the set of the BBC One Latin and ballroom competition in 2017 before getting together in 2021 – are “living the dream” as they prioritise the show’s next series and their upcoming tour ‘Once Upon A Tour’ over other relationship milestones.
Nadiya told OK! magazine: “Right now, we’re just focused on our tour and making it work with everything else going on. When you’re constantly on the go performing, that’s all you think about – making sure it’s all as good as it can be. It’s pretty amazing. It’s living the dream.”
The 33-year-old star praised Kai for how “amazing” he is with her six-year-old daughter Mila, who she has with her footballer ex Matija Skarabot.
She said: “We’re very happy where we are at the moment. I love being with Kai, and being a mother – he’s amazing with Mila and I can’t wait for our future.”
Kai believes the key to their union is “always” being supportive and being “a hopeless romantic”.
The 27-year-old dancer said: “Always being there for each other, no matter what, even when it gets hard. We all go through hard times and struggles – that’s what relationships are about.
“I think we’re both equally romantic. We both love love, and we’re so happy to be together. But I’m a hopeless romantic. A lady should always be treated right.”
The pair admitted they will “miss” the outgoing ‘Strictly: It Takes Two’ host Rylan Clark as he recently revealed he will be departing the ‘Strictly’ companion show.
Kai said: “We’ll miss him. He’ll remain a very good friend to both of us.
“He’s smashing his career and we can’t wait to see what else he gets up to. Off-screen, he’s just the best guy in the business – he’s hilarious. He’d message me when I first joined ‘Strictly’ saying, ‘You’re doing such a great job.’ He’s a lovely guy.”
