Authorities May Charge Multiple People In Matthew Perry's Death: Report

A “law enforcement investigative source” said police believe multiple people should be charged in the death of “Friends” star Matthew Perry, People reported Tuesday.

While the probe is “nearing its conclusion,” the source told the outlet that the final decision on charges rests with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, which declined to comment to HuffPost on Wednesday.

In May authorities said they opened an investigation to determine where the ketamine came from. Police were working with the DEA and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

An autopsy pointed out that the sitcom legend had previously been prescribed ketamine infusion therapy. But his last session was a week and a half before the accident, meaning the ketamine in his system could not have been from that treatment. Ketamine is rapidly metabolized.

The drug is sometimes used to treat depression and is also used recreationally because of its hallucinogenic effects.
