Free agent journeyman sharpshooting wing Malik Beasley is signing a one-year, $6 million deal with the Detroit Pistons, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard was a critical offensive contributor for a 49-33 Milwaukee Bucks club in 2023-24, averaging 11.3 points on a .443/.413/.714 slash line, plus 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists. He was such a sieve on defense, however, that veteran point guard Patrick Beverley was often slotted next to All-Star Damian Lillard in the backcourt in Beasley’s stead.

Last season, the Pistons were the 29th-best team in terms of made triples and 26th in overall team free throw percentage. For his career, Beasley is a 38.5 percent 3-point shooter on 5.9 long-range attempts a night.

Bickerstaff.

The Pistons then selected exciting G League Ignite swingman Ron Holland with the No. 5 pick in the lottery of the 2024 NBA Draft. Detroit later brought in embattled former Philadelphia 76ers power forward Tobias Harris, who had enjoyed a prolific previous stint with the franchise, on a two-year, $52 million deal. In 2023-24, on a solid Philadelphia squad, the 6-foot-8 vet averaged 17.2 points on a .487/.353/.878 slash line, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.1 dimes.

The team also added a pricey veteran swingman, Tim Hardaway Jr., in a trade to accommodate a salary-dumping move from his previous franchise, the Dallas Mavericks. In total, Detroit took on Hardaway’s expiring $16.2 million contract to obtain a trio of second-round Detroit draft…
