Ukrainian law enforcement officials have information about the execution of 93 Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) by the Russian forces on the battlefield.

Details: The representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office stated that 80% of the executions of Ukrainian POWs have been recorded in 2024. Such a practice began to appear in November 2023, when “there was a noticeable change in the attitude of Russian servicemen towards our POWs for the worse,” noted Bielousov. 

He also reported that on 3 October, new information emerged about the execution of another Ukrainian POW.

Quote: “A video of a possible execution of another soldier in a brutal manner was posted on Telegram channels. We immediately registered another criminal case together with the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine.”
