Man dead following shooting near 23rd and Fillmore streets in Phoenix

Baldwin High School to step up police presence amid alleged threat

Phoenix police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in central Phoenix on Oct. 27.

Police officers responded to 23rd and Fillmore streets just before 3 a.m. and found an adult male with at least one gunshot wound.

The man was pronounced dead on scene, according to Phoenix police.

The area was shut down for “an extended period of time as detectives have responded to assume the investigation,” a spokesperson for Phoenix police wrote in an email to The Arizona Republic.

No additional information about the victim or suspect has been released.
