Mercedes kicks off fully electric eActros 600 semi truck production

Mercedes announced its fully electric eActros 600 semi truck designed for long-haul trips back in September 2022 and is now starting its mass production at the Worth plant in Bavaria. It’s the company’s first electric truck to be produced on a single production line, unlike the eActros 300 and 400 models, which are assembled in a different facility.

The eActros 600 is fitted with a 600+ kWh battery and paired with Mercedes’ in-house efficient electric drive, which can go for more than 1,000 km per day, even without accesss to fast-charging. Just normal charging during the legally prescribed driver breaks is all it takes. The truck is good for around 500 km on a single charge.

If paired with one of Mercedes’ 1 MW charging stations, the battery can go from 20 to 80% in just 30 minutes. Mercedes will start building those charging points across Europe.
