The New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder will face off on Wednesday at the Paycom Center, with tip-off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN and streaming live on fuboTV.
This matchup, a rematch of last season’s play-in game, has lost some of its spark thanks to early-season struggles and key injuries on both sides.

The Pelicans have had a tough start to the 2024-25 season so far, dropping five games in a row and eight of their last night, leaving them with a 3-8 record. To make matters worse, star forward Zion Williamson is out due to a hamstring injury that could sideline him for 4 to 6 weeks. In addition, guard Jose Alvarado, who has started the last seven games, injured his hamstring in Monday’s 107-105 loss to the Brooklyn Nets and will also be out for an extended period.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma City has been off to a hot start, coming in with a 9-2 record on the season but also dealing with some injuries of their own. Chet Holmgren suffered a hip fracture in Sunday’s 127-116 loss to the Golden State Warriors, leaving a big hole in the Thunder’s offense. Despite his absence, OKC rallied for a 134-128 win over the Clippers on Monday.
